I will be listening to it after I finish my current book, The Thirteenth Tale. I have high hopes for it. I hope I am not disappointed.

Oh! I liked the Thirteenth Tale. I'm not sure about The Passage, but all the sites are saying it is a must read.

It's a great story, but the ending left me a bit cold. So much work reading and then ...

that's exactly how i felt,i listened to the book for almost 40 hours for THAT ending.i like books that give you background on characters and attention to detail but this was ridiculous.i just kept thinking 'just let something happen - i don't care what happened to this guy's aunty's grandma when she was twelve (ok,i'm exagerating), she's not part of the story - get on with it.it's a very frustrating book and i would presume that this book is going to be the first in a series but i won't be buying any more of them.i really felt that he was trying too hard to be like stephen king and he fell a long way short, not even close.when king gives you background on the characters he makes you like them,by the end of the passage i couldn't have cared less whether or not they all died.i don't listen to abridged versions of books but this felt like it would have been better if it was half the book that it is,too long by far with a very unsatisfactory ending

I've heard that it's part of a trilogy... My son is enjoying it and refuses to give it up until he's finished, so I'm stuck waiting!

    Thumbs down

    Flyers! I finished it!!

It was an ordeal to get through it, curiosity about the mentioned ending made me persevere. I agree with all said by mickyplum so won't bore you with it again.

Don't tell me! I'm still going to give it a try... Just have to wrest it from the hands of my teen.

To be fair to the book it isn't something I would normally read, not something I would see or read a blurb about and say 'yes, gotta read that!' so my opinion is not one that holds much weight. Opera and curiosity swayed me lol
I'm not surprised or even disappointed that I didn't get much out of it, and I am glad I got through it, but I can see it being very much enjoyed, as are tons of other books that do nothing for me. I hope you do enjoy it
