    Default Hello from Ottawa

    Hey there,

Avid audio book fan. I've subscribed to Audible for a couple years now and find that most of my "reading" is done this way during commutes, household chores, and before bed. The audio format is great for the latter since I don't keep the wife up with a reading light. I use my Apple iPod touch for reading and use the iTired app for keeping my spot when reading in bed so that it shuts down when I nod off.

Currently listening to "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman.

Hi Arthur, isn't reading using the iPod touch hard on your eyes?

I found reading on the iPod touch screen annoying because the screen is so darned small. I read pretty quickly and it was a pain to have to keep scrolling.

No. It was read by George Guidall. I liked his reading of it. Finished it yesterday. I'm now onto "The Unincorporated Man" by Dani Kollin and Eytan Kollin. So far, so good.

Yes, except I really "listen". I still find myself calling that "reading". True reading on the iPad is much better... as long as you're not in bright light.

Yes, the iPad and bright light are not a good combination.
