    Default Dean Koontz

I have read a lot of Koontz's books. I usually like them, especially the Odd Thomas ones. Lately, though, I think that his sense of humor and sarcasm kind of undermine the suspense. It's almost distracting. I wish he would stick to tightly plotted, interesting character books and tone down the humor a little.

I know what you mean. I gave up reading his after one of the more recent ones. It's supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, I guess. But there's too much of it.

For me, he is too hit-or-miss. After a recent one, something about Darkness with an obvious dog agenda, I swore off him. I loved the first two Odd Thomas books but the last one was too dark and boring for me.
