    Default Shades of Grey

I just finished Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. I adored it. John Lee's narration was okay, the content was delicious.

I haven't read this yet, in fact haven't read Fforde at all ... yet but I love the fact that this book cover is so colourful considering the title, and so sign-posty... but still with the greyness... v cool cover

Would this book be a good jumping off point to try Jasper Fforde?

I'm a big Jasper Fforde fan, he bought the fun back into my reading. The Shades of Grey was my least favourite and I would recommend starting with either The Eyre Affair (first Thursday Next book) or The Big Over Easy (about the murder of humpty dumpty). The Australian editions have brilliant covers and its what attracted me to the series, so yes a book cover does influence your choices.

I havent listened to these books and dont think I would want to, I feel they need to be read to be fully appreciated. Good luck and I hope you enjoy Ffordes madcap humor!

The Zamonia series by Walter Moers is also a lot of fun.
