Shall we choose another book?
Is there any interest in choosing a new book for discussion? If enough people are into it, I can post discussion questions/threads...

Cutting For Stone and Shantaram are possibilities.

Personally, I prefer to read lighter fare in the summer... I go for a lot of crime fiction or humorous books.
I am currently reading The Imperfectionists, which is wonderful.

May I recommend the Chopin Manuscript. It's a free download at Audible.co.uk and is a thriller (on the edge of your seat stuff). Each chapter is written by a well known Crime/thriller writer, starting with Jeffrey Deaver and includes David Hewson and Childs and others. I think what they did was write a chapter then pass on to another author. So it's like a literary game of consequences. Due to this it's almost impossible to guess what the ending is going to be.
The narration is a bit on the light side for me although I've got used to it, but a great listen not to be taken too seriously and an interesting experiment.
There is a sequel called the Copper Bracelet written in the same way although this is not free.
Also there is music occasionally during the listen, at the beginning and end of the chapters and the odd chord at tense moments, but the music does not form a background. It's rather a nice touch.

Unless I'm mistaken the Chopin Manuscript does not appear to be free any longer Unfortunately. I know that it was as I remember linking to it in the past.
All that said, I see that audible is offering the first chapter of the Chopin Manuscript by Jeffery Deaver free, it runs for 39 minutes, so that should be enough to evaluate the book I would think.
Thank you for bringing attention to it Mary

I often talk to my self, the thing is I can never agree with a thing I have to say!
